The 2025 Domaine de Chevalier Rouge is a beautifully refined and classically structured expression of Pessac-Léognan, combining impressive concentration with freshness, precision and elegance. The vintage highlights the estate’s ability to produce wines of depth and character without excessive weight, with an alcohol level of only around 12.5%. The wine shows a compelling balance between ripe dark fruit, mineral complexity and finely structured tannins, resulting in a sophisticated Bordeaux with considerable ageing potential.

Tasting Profile

On the nose, expect expressive aromas of cassis, blackcurrant, dark berries and ripe plum, complemented by notes of graphite, pencil shavings, smoky tobacco, dried flowers, liquorice and subtle spice. The palate is medium to full-bodied, dense and layered, with a concentrated core of fruit framed by ripe, finely textured tannins. Fresh acidity provides energy and precision, while hints of chocolate, walnut, cedar and earthy minerality add complexity. The finish is long, polished and persistent, combining classical Pessac-Léognan structure with remarkable finesse.
