The 2023 Château Poujeaux is a refined and classically styled expression of Moulis-en-Médoc, combining generous dark fruit with freshness, mineral character and an elegant tannic structure. The 2023 vintage saw a notably high proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon, giving the wine additional depth, tension and aromatic complexity. Crafted from 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot and 10% Petit Verdot, and matured for 12 months in French oak barrels, 30% new, it successfully combines traditional Médoc structure with a polished, modern character.

Tasting Profile

On the nose, expect expressive aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry and dark berries, accompanied by elegant notes of violet, gunflint, cigar box, tobacco and subtle spice. The palate is medium-bodied, fresh and supple, with a juicy core of black fruit framed by fine, silky tannins. Mineral freshness provides balance and precision, while the Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot contribute structure, depth and persistence. The finish is long and focused, with lingering dark fruit and savory mineral nuances.
